Windsor-Essex County is facing a housing affordability crisis & WECAR is ramping up our advocacy efforts this year to work with our elected officials to get more homes built for families in our region.
Last week, WECAR leaders attended the Southwestern Ontario Housing Summit hosted by the Ontario Home Builders Association (“OHBA”). The summit was joined by home builders, developers, and public office holders from right across Southwestern Ontario.
What was the big take away from the event?
Every community is struggling with housing affordability, and public office holders need stakeholders like WECAR and the development community to bring solutions to build more homes faster.
WECAR leaders met with the Conservative Party of Canada, Housing and Diversity and Inclusion critic and MP Scott Aitchison, Parliamentary Assistant to the Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing, Matthew Rae, and Essex MPP, Anthony Leardi.
This Fall, WECAR will be releasing our own platform of solutions to get more homes built in Windsor-Essex County.
Stay tuned for more information on that announcement… it will be one you won’t want to miss!
